Koichi Sugimoto
While attending fashion school, he began an apprenticeship at Richard James Savile row
After graduation, He moved to London and worked as apprentice cutter at Richard James Savile row. Under the guidance of head cutter Brian Pusey, He learned the fundamentals of measuring, Pattern making, and cutting.
At the same time, he studied under Martin Nicholls, who runs Nicholls & co.
He learned the “art and science” of Bespoke tailoring under Martin Nichols.
After returning to Japan, he was invited by Head cutter Martin Nicholls to join Alfred Dunhill.
As the first Japanese bespoke tailor at Alfred Dunhill, he was responsible for customers service, measuring, and pattern making for customers throughout Japan. For about 7 years, he provided Dunhill Bespoke to Japanese customers.
